Neck and Back Pain Exercises that Relieve Neck and Back Pain

Most people suffering with neck and back pain can all benefit from doing neck and back pain exercises regularly. The muscles and ligaments of theĀ  back, legs, buttock, and around the spine are all soft tissues that can respond positively to neck and back pain exercises.

I have held classes on neck and back pain exercises to residents of North Bergen and West New York and Union City and many of the people attending have had great responses.

Our Neck and Back Pain Doctors Have Created Specialized Neck and Back Pain Exercises

Although the spinal column with its ligaments tendons and muscles are all designed to go through ranges of motion and when these ranges of motion become restricted is when your back pain can get worse.

Patients with ongoing back pain may find it takes weeks or months of stretching and other back exercises to mobilize the spine and soft tissues, but will find that meaningful and sustained relief of back pain will usually follow the increase in motion.

Always keep in mind whenever beginning an active stretching regimine as part of your daily neck and back exercises:

  • Put on comfortable clothes that won’t bind and shoes that do not pinch
  • Stretching must always be pain free; don’t force the your body into positions you’re not comfortable with
  • Move into the stretch slowly and avoid bouncing on the muscles. This can damage the muscles if you’re not careful
  • Stretch on a clean, flat surface that is large enough to move freely
  • Hold stretches long enough (10-20 seconds) to allow muscles to get loose and warm up
  • Repeat the stretch, generally 10-20 times or until you become tired

If you already suffer with neck and or back pain it’s best to call us for a FREE consultation so that we can discuss what the type of neck or back pain exercises you should be performing.
